Our Algarve tips
The Algarve is perfect for visits throughout the year. The beautiful flowers make March to November the best time for nature lovers. The first orchids bloom in March, when the temperature is already around 18 to 21 degrees.
Carnival has been celebrated in Loulé in February for 100 years and involves an impressive procession with floats, bright colours, feathers and scantily clad ladies. This spectacle attracts enthusiasts from all over Portugal and is well worth visiting.
Sagres is a popular place to see the last rays of the day. The lighthouse at the former fort is on the most southwestern tip of Europe. On the right, you can watch the steep rocks that turn red as the sun bids the day farewell. Bring a drink, take a seat and enjoy the spectacle.
